Set during the times of the Civil War, Jude Law plays a wounded confederate solder travelling home to the sweetheart he left behind. Ada, (Nicole Kidman) has been desperately trying to maintain her fathers farm, with help from Ruby (Renee Zellweger) who has found a temporary home. Thus the scene is set for an epic romantic drama unfolded with great care by directory Anthony Minghella (THE ENGLISH PATIENT) and captured by award-winning Australian cinematographer, John Seale.
