The film of the season, directed by Claude Berri, so well remembered for JEAN DE FLORETTE and MANON DES SOURCES. A story of romance between an older man, a sound engineer, and his housekeeper who, at 19 years of age is very much his junior, avoids all the expected cliches to become a sensitive and understanding love-story for grown-ups. For Jacques (Jean Pierre Bacri), feelings that he thought were beyond revival are reawakened… in love it seems, one never learns from mistakes, and always yearns to make more. Laura (Emilie Dequenne) is delightful and intriguing, at first in search of work and lodgings, and then as her attraction to Jacques grows… she enjoys the beginning of an affair and seems to carry no emotion from a recently failed relationship, while he looks ahead, hoping to find love that will last forever.
